HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL YOU MUMS OUT THEIR
Mother's Day is celebrated all over the world to honor our Mothers. Mother's day is the occasion to pay rich tributes to one of those persons who have had a great impact on our lives, a person whose love and care knows no boundaries, a person who does everything to keep her children happy an joyous.

Happy Mothers day to my lovely mum who is always there for me and my family. Thanks mum for still looking after me still at the age of 37 years old, not sure what i would do without you! Have a relaxing day and i love you lots xxxxxxxxxx

My Mothers Day started with Alfie waking me up at 7am with a card and a present that he had made and brought from school. The cards he had made at school and at beavers and my present was a lovely necklace that he had chosen from school which parents had donated to help raise money for MLSA along with a candle stand made from clay. Thank you Alfie they are lovely and he said that he chose the necklace so i could wear to work which i thought was very sweet of him to think of.

Polly then woke up and gave me my lovely handbag (what a surprise) and some perfume to add to my collection. The lovely smelling 'Joy of Pink' to go with my bottles of ' Touch of Pink', 'Love of Pink' all by Lacoste. Polly had also made me a card and a candle holder and some bubble bath and hand cream from the Mothers Day Sale they had a school.

They then cooked me some pancakes for breakfast which we had in bed before getting ready and going off to Chessington for the afternoon.

Got to Chessington at around 12ish and we were very surprised at how quiet it seemed, due to the weather being ok and it being Mothers Day. We had a lovely day no queues but alot of the bigger rides Polly was not tall enough but there was still alot for us all to go on!

The rain keep off but it poured down as we were driving home on the motorway at around 5.30pm which was good timing!

Had a lovely Mothers Day thanks to Phil, Alfie and Polly love you lots xxxxxxx

2nd April 2011

Saturday and Polly is off to Stagecoach. They went off early to do a bit of shopping before hand ready for Mothers Day tomorrow ( I guess). I have already given Phil the handbag i brought yesterday to give to the kids for them to wrap up for me as a Mothers Day present, but lets hope i get a little surprise also!

Phil made a comment when he left that he will be back to have a full english breakfast waiting for him. So as a nice person that i am i got him eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, toast and a cup of coffee ready for him. He was very shocked and said that he was only joking but it was nice treat for him anyway!

I had the football tickets from work so Phil could take Alfie to watch the Wycombe Wanders game at home, so i took Polly to the cinema and saw the film 'Hop' which is about the Easter Bunny.
Hop Poster
It was a good film and Polly really enjoyed it.
Alfie and Phil had a good afternoon and Wycombe won.

I invited my mum and dad for tea tonight for Mothers Day, i cooked a Lamb and Spinach Curry and a Lasagna with garlic bread, salad and homemade potato wedges. It was really nice if i say so myself!

We have decided to go to Chessington on Sunday which is why i treated my mum to her dinner tonight, so she had her card, plant and books that i had brought her a day early.

1st April 2011

Happy April Fools Day. Yes April here already!

Had a very quiet and cannot be bothered week this week so have not kept up my blog! I hate it when you feel like that, can not be bothered to do anything just could stay in doors in Pj's all day watching tv, reading and just lazing about!

Looking forward to today, as Martha is coming over as she has had the week off work so and we are going to head into Thame for a wander around the shops and have some lunch which will be nice.

Martha turned up around 11am so we went straight into Thame and had a nice look around the shops. We went into Clarks and there was a lovely bag in a Raspberry colour, it looked lovely. The staff saw us looking at it and brought us over a 20% voucher off all bags. A good move from the sales staff but a bad move for us as Martha and I both brought the same bag!

We had a lovely lunch in The Six Bells and by the time we had finished it was 2.30pm so we made our way back to Chinnor to pick up Polly from school. Thanks to Martha for coming over i had a really nice day.

Alfie stayed at mum and dad's house as he had not stayed there for about five weeks which he keeps telling us due to various reasons!

27th March 2011

Sunday morning and we lost an hours sleep last night as we had to put the clocks forward into spring.
Its another lovely sunning morning its 12 o'clock and i am still in my Pj's oops.

Polly went off with uncle Paul at 9am this morning to either legoland or Chessington as Paul needs to get is annual merlin pass sorted and Alfie and Phil are out front playing cricket on the green.

Had a chat with mum who at the moment is in France. They went to on the night ferry on Wednesday night and they are coming home tomorrow evening. They have done the garden but today it is raining so Dad is going to watch the Grand Prix and mum is going to read her book before the long drive home!

Alfie has football at 1.45 so i best get them some lunch then i must have a shower and get dressed.

Another, not so great football match, with all then kids on Alfie's team getting very upset as they keep lossing. This is due to the U8's football manager Mark not putting out to equal 6 a side teams like the last time a couple of weeks ago when Phil mentioned it to him, but he obviously did not listen as he has done the same today! The only time he looked around to watch our game was when a goal went in, probable to see who had scored as Alfie is on 21 goals so far for this season, and he desperately wants his son to get more goals than Alfie, how childish is that but that is why he also playing Alfie in defence!

Its 4pm and i hope that Polly is having a nice day the weather is lovely, Alfie has his cousin Ella around they are on the internet looking at the site for Moshi Monsters which is all the range at the moment. Another expense collecting the monster cards!

Having trouble uploading any photos onto my blog will have to try again later or tomorrow!

Polly had a great day at Legoland thanks uncle Paul!

26th March 2011

Yippee its Saturday and we have no plans apart from Polly off the Stagecoach then off to a party straight after. Alfie and Phil went off to Wycombe to get their eyes tested. So apart from that the day is free to what every happens.

Polly had a great time at her party they had a magic man which she said was really good. Alfie's eye's are perfect so there is no excuse for him not seeing the board at school. I must do a letter to his teacher and just inform her that we have had his eye's tested and they are fine as it was her that suggested we do this as she thought that Alfie could not see the board from the back of the class from where he sits, so all is good! Phil's eye's are ok also, which is good no need for him to wear glasses just yet!

As the weather was good a bit colder than the pass couple of days but still sunny. Phil cut the lawn so i did a bit of weeding and trimming in the garden. Im not a great green fingered gardener i like the garden to look  nice but am not very good at what plants are best where in the garden i just like alot of colour which is why a put flowers in pots on then decking, i can manage that but not much else! I know its bad but perhaps i will get better with age!

Played a bit of cricket with Alfie on the ground outfront and then the boys watched football on TV,England V Wales at Cardiff. England won 2-0 i think. Polly and i went for walk as she wanted to take her baby doll for a walk. so we walk upto Spar and then popped into to see Ella who was on her way out to the park so we walked back down to the park with her and Phil and Alfie came over after the football had finished to play a bit more Cricket which Alfie is really getting into at the moment as nanny brought him a new cricket bat and ball for his birthday. Alfie is a typical boy who loves being outside being astive all the time and trying his hand at all sports.

Ella and Polly played in the park and looked after their little cousin Harry who is 2 who came to the park also, not on his own but with his mum Amanda. Stayed for an hour or so but it got so cold so came home. Ella stayed and played for a while and i gave them a lift home around 7ish as we got a takeaway from the Risborough Chinese. Naughty but very nice!

25th March 2011

Friday and another lovely day ahead the sun is shinning again and the day is looking good!

Phil mentioned that he was going to sort out his clothes this weekend as we had a charity bag through the door on Friday. So i thought i should do the same as i have clothes in my wardrobe which have been there years without me wearing them so i am going to be ruthless and just go for it and get rid of things which i no longer like or no longer fits me. I have a coat in there which i used to wear when i was pregnant with Alfie OMG this coat is 9 years old that must go!

Good job done just in time as my nan turned up! Had an afternoon doing my ironing with the help of my nan bless her who is getting more and more confused as the weeks go on! xx

Had a very productive day today, cupboards or draws sorted, ironing done and entertained my nan for the day!

Been thinking about work today and the situation with my new work and the office move and i am  looking forward to it doing different work and learning more about the property side of the business. I think it could be good for me i just have a few concerns which i will speak to my new boss on Monday about but all in all lets get going. With moving office's at the end of the day i dont mind where i sit as long as i am busy and enjoying my work it does not bother me where i am, as i am only there 3 days a week and anyway its not up to me im not the boss which is what i will say to them Monday! You have to think of it this way, things dont always stay the same and changes can also be a good thing!

24th March 2011

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A GREAT AND DEAR FRIEND WHO IS 38 TODAY. HAVE A GREAT DAY DODDY AND DONT WORK TO HARDxxx

A lovely day today sunny and warm lets hope that is the start of the spring summer months.
Waking up to a nice bright day makes you feel so much nice and fresh and ready for the day ahead!

23rd March 2011

A lovely day ahead the sun is shining so i am going to get my PINK shoes out to wear to work, to give myself a spring/summer like feel to today!

Shoes for today are alittle odd looking not sure you would get me to wear these! Blue leopard print "Heart of My heart" scalloped sandal, Jan Jansen, 2010.

Been told today that i am moving officies at work! I have very mixed views about this as i have been in the same office for the last 14 years. The reason i am moving is that i am doing extra work due to a person on maternity leave and my boss semi retiring and coming in 1 day a week. So all in all i will be working on other stuff which involves me working with my boss on that 1 day that he comes in to work, so they have come to the conclusion that i am best upstairs with him in his office great!  Not sure when it is going to all happen may be in a couple of months as they need to fit two desks into John's office so he has got to get his finger out and start to sort out his stuff or i will siting on the floor in the corner on top of a pile of files! My other concern is that i want to know what will happen in 6 month times when the person on maternity is due back? What then happens to me, at the moment i feel like i am being pushed from piller to post, dont worry its only Nicky she's the capable one she can do it!!! I just guess that time will tell!

Feeling knackered today so am being boring and going off to bed and its only 9.30pm. Sweet dreams everybody and have a safe trip to mum and dad who are off to France tonight, lots of love to you both xxx

22nd March 2011

Got the kids off to school on this Tuesday morning then i am off to Thame to meet my lovely cousin Rachel for a coffee. She has just lost her gramp who died on Saturday night, so my thoughts go out to her at this very sad time, but like i said to her he is at peace now with no suffering and up in heaven with the angels looking over us in a much nicer and better place, which is what i believe!

We had a lovely long pot of tea from 9.30 until 11am which was very nice and enjoyable to catch up with her.

Had a very lazy day as did not feel to good, tummy again!

Picked the kids up from school but had to hang about to see Alfie's teacher due to an incident which happened at playtime yesterday. I must keep my cool! Alfie told us what happened and i have to believe him, but it seems if something has happened at school Alfie is always the one getting into trouble. I know that he is not an angel and he can be a typical 8 year old boy. But what happens at school should stay at school and i am not going to keep punishing him. They kepted him in at break time what more do they want me to do. I can talk to him and explain that he must be careful in the playground when playing and not throw things but also accidents happen! It just winds me up!

Took Polly swimming and each day i ask her how her day has been and the reply i always get is FINE mum, so i said Polly you always say that, so she said ok mummy is was beautiful then. I give up, what do they do at school and why do they not share with us about there day?

Had a nice curry for tea, a bit naughty better never mind there is always tomorrow to be good!

Sunday, 20 March 2011

20th March 2011

A lovely sunday morning apart from Alfie and Polly waking up at 7.00am. They started to mess about in my bed so i sent them down stairs to play on the Wii, as i was not ready to wake up yet!

9.00am and i have a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich in bed thanks Phil, its one of those mornings when i can not be bothered to get up, so i start to read another book. I'm sorry mum but i brought this to give you for Mother's Day so i will read it first and you can have it when i finish it, i promise i will get a move on and finish it quicker than the last one! The book is anotheer autobiography by Sherrie Hewson, called Behind the Laughter.

Best get up as Polly has a Pizza making party at Pizza Hut in Aylesbury at 12pm and Alfie has Luke's bowling party today also and we have to drop him off at 12.30pm at Luke's house in Chinnor. So card writing and present wrapping is done and we are on our way to Aylesbury. I will drop off Polly and then go off to Tesco's and do our weekly shop. Tried to be good and only buy what we need but i still spent £150 and making good savings today of £29 not bad! No treats, no alcohol only good food with little fat in due to me trying to loss weight. Brought myself some cardboard rice cakes for work so i can pick on them when i get hungry instead of eating biscuits.

I have been very good this week as i have not had any alcohol, i poured myself a glass of red wine last night but had a couple of sips and then gave it to Phil as i did not fancy it. I will do my best and try and keep it up, but can not quarantee how long i will keep it up for. I am off to doctors tomorrow so i will get on the scales and see if there is any difference from last time i was there. If it has not made a blind bit of difference i will be having a large glass of wine tomorrow night believe me! Stop worrying Nicky and read that paragraph from Gok Wan's book that i posted yesterday!

Watching Come dine with me, that woman is agonying the hell out of me, she is picking at everything they put in front of her, why go on this programme if you are like this and the man witch did not even eat his own meal, unreal!

19th March 2011

Saturday and the weather is looking good. Polly went of to Stagecoach while Alfie and i stayed at home. Phil popped into his Dad's to pick up is new computer that he ordered last week. He also ordered a new TV for our bedroom which was delivered on Friday but i was not in so it is going to be delivered again on Monday we hope so Phil is working from home until it turns up. All we need is the bracket to put it up on the wall then we are up and running, yipee!

Due to the weather being so nice we decided to go to Thorpe park this afternoon and use our Merlin passes. So off we go around 12 o'clock only to find that there is a queue of cars going up the Stokenchurch hill to get onto the M40 due to there being a very bad crash by the Lewknor junction so all the cars have been diverted off and the M40 was closed between Thame and Stokenchurch, two lorries we heard on the radio. We eventually got onto the M40 and got to Thorpe park around 1.30pm as we stopped off at the new Beaconsfield services for some lunch as we thought it would be easier to eat before we got there.

Parked up and got into the park which did not look to busy, this is the ideal time to come just after the park
has opened for the new season! Went on a few rides dry and wet ones which the kids loved, but got very wet on the last ride so we decided to make out way back home as the park was closing at 6pm and by this time it was 5.30pm and my jeans where wet and i was starting to feel cold! Why do kids never feel the cold Alfie was walking about with no jacket on saying he was warm i will never understand them!

Had a really good afternoon, looking forward to having alot more like these with our Merlin Passes this year!

I am very pleased as i actual managed to finish my book, i know what you are thinking how long does it take to read a book? Well for me it could be a week but then again it could take a lot longer, like this one i started back in 2010 but i have finished it at last while driving to Thorpe Park. It was the Autobiography of Gok Wan

so i can now pass this book on to mum for her to read. There is a paragraph in the last chapter of this book which i would like to share with you: Gok Wan's words are:
' I firmly believe that you've got to embrace who you are as a person. You do not need to lose weight because you look in a magazine and see a woman who is airbrushed, re-touched, underweight and on a catwalk. And i know that because i've been on both sides of the fence. There's no point in losing weight and becoming addicted to the gym if you don't understand the person you are. You can never be happy that way. Accepting who and what you are and resolving to make the most of that person is the kjey. I truly believe that.'

I like this and it has alot of meaning to what he is saying!

18th March 2011

Red Nose Day today, so the kids have gone to school either in Red or Green dressed as a monster or in their there best clothes. Polly wore a dress with some red lipstick in her hair, not sure it will come out? Alfie went in his Tottenham football fit what a surprise!

Friday my day of housework, but not today i am off to have my hair coloured, then Doddy is coming over so we can have lunch out again and to visit a shop which i pass every day going to work in West Wycombe.

I was a little late coming back from having my hair done as Claire my hairdresser suggested i should have it cut shorter due to the ends being very badly damaged becaude of all the colour and perm that i have had on my hair over the year. So off she went cutting away, OMG yes a bit shorter than liked but i guess it will grow quicker now i have all the split ends cut off. I must not straighten it as much as that does not help either.

Doddy was already at home when i got there so we went straight off to West Wycombe. The shop is called The Apple Orchard http://www.theappleorchard.com/ Its a lovely shop, so if you are passing you must pay them a visit, there is lots of lovely furniture and various gift ideas. I purchased a present but will not say what or who for just in case! There were some lovely and different pictures of buildings which had letters hidden in them which were put together to make a line of four letters spelling LOVE and HOME, these were great but a little pricey.

We were going up to the golden ball for a walk but it was raining so we will have to do that another day and Doddy said that she has never been down the Hell Fire Caves, which i have not done for years. Not sure what the kids will make of it but will have to do that also very soon when the weather gets better.

We had lunch at The Rose and Crown in Saunderton, as when we drove past there was a sign outside saying 2 for 1 meals so we went there and had a really nice lunch, thanks again Doddy what am i going to do next Tuesday and Friday when you have gone back to school!

The evening is here and we are settled down to watch abit of the Red Nose Day programme as Phil is not home from work yet. Its so sad watching this programme those poor children and adults with no sight. We did our bit and donated another £20 plus the rest we have given over the past week, lets hope that it gets to the people who need it.

The stars and celebrities do a great job putting this programme together, we liked the JLS dancers and the James Corden sketch he is so funny and having George Michael in the car with him was brilliant!

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY TO EVERYONE

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick's_Day

Saint Patrick's Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig) is a religious holiday celebrated internationally on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland.

Shoe's for today are Embroidered velvet court shoe with braid trim, Europe, c. 1880s.

Had a good day at work getting to grips with some new job that they have given me to do until Mita comes back from Maternity Leave, if she returns that is as you get so used to being at home it is then so hard to come back to work, i know as i have done it twice now, but going part time is a god send, time at home and time at work is a very good split!

Read one of the guys papers in the factory today, yes The Sun of course, and there was an article about health but the one bit of information i liked the most was this:

BIG HIPS
FAT on the hips can mop up fatty acids and has an anti-flammorty agent that stops arteries clogging, according to scientists at Oxford University. Researcher Dr. Konstantinos said: "Some fat around the hops and the thighs is good for you."

I have cut this article out and have pinned it up on my pin board in the kitchen so every time i think that my hips and thighs are to big, which to be truthful is probable every day, it might make me feel a little bit better about it!

16th March 2011

A foggy morning driving to work which is never nice! But i have noticed that one of my headlights has blown so must get a new bulb before i get pulled over by the police.

In the papers today there is an article about the wax works of Justin Bieber being revielled today so we will have to pay another visit to Madam Tussuads for Polly to see it have her photo taken with him as she Loves him madness from a 5 year old i know!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_9420000/newsid_9426700/9426704.stm
Spot the difference: Bieber labelled the waxwork 'awesome' and admitted it was funny to see how much he has grown in eight months Justin Bieber with his wax works model which critics say looks nothing like him!

Shoes for today: Fuschia silk " Pomposo" peep-toe stiletto pump with large rosette, Stuart Weitzman, 2008.

I like these ones very pink just how i like them!

As it is such a dull day today completely different from yesterday i am wishing it was like the picture on our calender at work which is in Tissington, Peak District, Derbshire. A lovely quiet little village in the countryside with clear blue skies.
Left work at 5pm but it was a nightmare getting out of Wycombe it took me 25 minutes to get from work to the pedestal roundabout, due to traffic lights just by the roundabout going out of Wycombe!

I must remember this for the morning as it will take ages to get to work in the morning if those traffic lights are still there, but is always the same nobody was working on  the road typical i am sure they just do it for fun and agony people going home from work!

Kids eating there tea when i got home thanks to mum and dad. We will have ours later when Phil final comes home from work and probable when Alfie and Polly are in bed asleep,  but not sure what though!

15th March 2011

Had a lovely day today thanks to a best friend who i have known and kept in contact with since we were at Lord Williams School in Thame, when we both started there at 11/12 years old which is around 26 years ago.

Blimey Doddy has it been that long? Even though Doddy has moved about with her many colleage and university courses that she has done we have always kept in touch with each other, may be a phone call or a visit to her current place of studying. Then when she paid her parents a visit who still live in Thame, we used to meet up for a drink or two.

But she is currently living and working in Aylesbury teaching Art to 11-16 year olds (she is so brave) so we see each other more regularly which is really nice.

Doddy has been unwell for a few weeks so she has been signed off work so on my days off i have been paying her a visit. Yesterday she came over to see her parents so we meet up and had a spot of lunch and did a bit of shopping in Thame. Which was nice but it tired her out as she is still not 100%.
She brought a lovely painting for her sitting room from a new shop that has just opened in Thame. It was very nice and had all the colours to match her colour scheme in her flat.

We had a lovely lunch in The Six Bells in Thame which has recently been done up so the menu was new and different i had a brie and beetroot and rocket sandwich and Doddy had a Goats cheese and roasted pepeer toasted sandwich. Mine was very nice thanks very much Doddy.

Took Polly swimming but it was so warm by the pool side we had to move out why does it have to be so warm in there?

Went out with friends from work tonight, meet them in Wycome at 7pm but was a little bit late due to Phil getting caught up at work. We had a couple of games bowling which was great fun and we all had a laugh being split into two teams Pete, Langton, Tim and Me on one team and Michelle, Sue, Debbie and Steve on the other. A far split until Langton and Pete had to much to drink and they lost the art of playing and knocking down the pins. But all in all we all had a good evening even Martha who did not bowl just in case she hurt her back as she has ongoing problems with it, but she was playing games on Langton's phone which kept her happy and quiet!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE BROTHER WHO IS 31 TODAY

A pleasant drive to work this morning as the sun was shining again.

Shoes for today: Suede and metallic leather " Marisa" pump with brass heel cap, Chrissie Morris, 2009.

Did not get on to well with giving up drink for lent and all in all had a bad week last week on food and drink altogether. So this is a new week and a new challenage eat healthly, not have any drink and chocolate for as long as possible! How long will it last?

I always struggle with what to get for tea every evening as i am not very organised. I wish i had somebody to cook me tea everynight so i would not have to think about what to eat and cook, it would just be put in front of me for me to enjoy and eat. Yum Yum what a thought! I need my own personnel healthy cook like the stars have.

Alfie went off to football training with Phil, me and Polly came home and sorted dinner out. She had hot dog sauages and pasta, i put some jacket potatoes in the oven for mine and Phil's tea, how exciting!

Alfie got home and played on his DSi for a while but it turned into a nightmare of an evening as Alfie did not want to go to bed, so we had a little fit on our hands. The trouble is that he gets tired and that is when he starts to get a bee in his bonnet and then gets upset and silly, but Phil managed to calm him down and he was asleep straightaway.

So we are now catching up with the last part of Outcasts on BBC, not sure how it is going to end? Another one of those BBC series with an odd ending, why do we get into watching these programmes!

13th March 2011

This time last week it was Alfie's birthday, where has this week gone!

Off to football in the rain to Downley. What joy! Must wrap up warm and get the umbrellas at the ready.

Not a good start to the day as Alfie's football did not go very well they lost both games, due to a very poor selection by the team manager! This does not help the boys as they get very upset and think that they are playing crap and rubbish which were the words which came out of Alfie's mouth. This was all down to poor leadership and organising as usuals, but today it must have got to Phil as he actual said something to the Manager! The trouble is that this put Phil in a bad mood all day.

We had a lazy and relaxing afternoon we watched Astro Boy on sky plus while eating some Popcorn which i think i burnt a bit as to long in the microwave, but they still ate it with no complaining so it could not have been that bad!

It tunred out to a nice day later on so the kids went out and played football on the green outside with Phil, then it was tea time, bath time, then bed time. Both alseep by 8.15 which was nice a we had time to watch a film which i recorded the other day called ' Dear John' which was based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. I have borrowed the book from the library but have not yet got round to reading  it yet and it was due back yesterday which i forgot about so will have a fine to pay!

Saturday, 12 March 2011

12th March 2011

Saturday is here again. Phil, Alfie and Polly made pancakes due to them not having them on Pancake Day. They were very nice with Honey which had a hint of Blueberries which Phil bought home from work.

Polly went off to stagecoach with Phil and i took Alfie around to my mum's as she was taking Alfie shopping for his birthday.

I popped into Wycombe to make an appointment for Phil and Alfie to have their eyes tested. Alfie's teacher thinks that he can not see the black board from the back of the room so suggested that we get his eyes tested, but this is not the first time as last year his previous teacher said that he puts one hand over his eye when he is reading, but they were tested and they were fine. Best to check them again just in case as i wear glasses all the time! Phil is just having trouble reading things up close!

Had a nice walk around Wycombe, got a few bits from Primark for the kids, socks, tights and Pj's etc.

Treated myself a couple of CD's Cee-lo Green, The Lady Killer and Rihanna, Loud.  Only listened a couple of tracks of the Cee- lo Greens CD while doing my ironing before Lets Dance for Comic Relief comes on, but so far the reviews are right he has a great voice and is a very talented singer.
"A voice of such beauty and longing that it takes your breath away.... an album of incredible beauty and power." this is the review from the Sunday Times

Was pleased that the Tap Dance Act with James Thornton and funny-man Charlie Baker won the Lets Dance for Comic Relief as they were very good and must have put alot of work into the tap dance routine.

11th March 2011

Shoes of today: Patent Leather topstitched "Eagle's Eye" platform Stiletto, Jan Jansen 2010.
Not sure about these!

Had a really lovely day my nan came down as usually. Then Doddy came over for a drive out as she is still not well. We took my nan out to lunch at The Crown in Chinnor, which was very busy but it was nice to see Doddy and to see her eat something and enjoy it, i just hope that she was ok later on!

Watching the news this morning with nan while having a cup of tea.  A special news report was on TV showing the terrible earthquake and Tsumami that had hit Japan that morning. Whole villages had been wiped out dut to the Tsumani coming in from the sea bring large waves which covered the land. This earthquake recorded 8.9 on the scale which was the worst earthquake recorded for 150 years.

The pictures look horrific and all those lives lost due to another natural disater which is out of everbodies hands. My nan said that it is God giving us a sign to stop all the bad things in the world and to stop all this fighting!  Bless her!

8th March 2011

Today is a lovely sunny spring morning. The sky is blue and the sun is shinning bright, still a bit chilly but today is how spring should be!

Listen to Clare Maguire while doing my housework and sorted out my avon. Delivered some of my avon orders and popped to Thame for a stop of shopping.

I love it when you can put the washing on the line to dry, the washing smells lovely and fresh from blowing in the breeze! All i need to do now is make the bed, not a job i enjoy!

When picking Alfie and Polly from school some children were coming out eating Pancakes. I had forgotten its Shove Tuesday or Pancake Day as we know it. Oh dear we have parents evening tonight so will have to have our pancakes another day when Phil is home from work on time or at the weekend because him and Polly have got the art of cooking pancakes perfectly. Alfie enjoys his with honey and Polly just coats hers in butter!

What is Shove Tuesday or Pancake day?
In the UK, Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake Day (or Pancake Tuesday to some people) because it is the one day of the year when almost everyone eats a pancake.
Pancake Day ( also known as Shrove Tuesday) is the last day before the period which Christians call Lent. It is traditional on this day to eat pancakes.
Lent is a time of abstinence, of giving things up. So Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to indulge yourself, and to use up the foods that aren't allowed in Lent. Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were forbidden during Lent.

I guess i should be giving something up for Lent, the good old chocolate, alcohol, crisps, cheese, but i dont think i could last until Easter Sunday which is 40 days away not including sundays. What would be the easiest thing to give up for me ??????? I will let you know how i am getting on with each of these items, best have a drink tonight with my nice cheesy pasta bake for tea with a chocolate bar for afters!

The dreaded parents evening! Polly is getting on fine very strong minded, really i would never had said  that!!! ha ha only joking, she is very kind and she is Mrs Gordens little helper. She is trying very hard with her reading and learning how to sound out words and then trying to spell them out along with her very expressive drawings. Alfie is alway doing well, just needs to listen more which is the sameold  story every time we go to parents evening. But his handwriting is improving and he likes to be set a challenage when it comes to his reading. He is very helpful when it comes to organisation in his classroom wish he was more like that at home! But all in all they are both progressing well. Just need to make an appointment to get Alfie's eye's tested as Miss Gleaves thinks he can not see the board from the back of the class room!

Holby City being recorded as Phil and Alfie are watching football, so i think i will get on and read my book which is taking me forever to read!
